Executive Leadership Workshop Day Three: Participants from the Supreme Court of Nigeria Enjoy Cultural Immersion with Tours of Bruges and Brussels

Brussels, November 14, 2024—On the final day of the Executive Leadership Workshop, participants took a break from intensive sessions to enjoy a full-day city visit and guided tours of Bruges and Brussels by a highly qualified and respected Belgian Licensed Tour Guide, Mrs Marijke Van Daele. The cultural excursion, designed to foster networking and relaxation, showcased Belgium’s rich history and architectural beauty.

The day began at 8:30 AM, with attendees departing from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Brussels City. The first stop was the medieval city of Bruges, often called the “Venice of the North,” where participants explored iconic landmarks, including the Belfry Tower, the Market Square, and the serene canals. A guided tour provided fascinating insights into Bruges’ history, art, and role as a medieval trading hub.

In the afternoon, the group returned to Brussels for a Bus tour of the city’s highlights, including the Grand Place, the Atomium, and the Royal Palace. During a leisurely break, attendees also had the opportunity to sample Belgian delicacies, such as chocolate and waffles.

The tour concluded with a return to the hotel at 6:30 PM, with participants reflecting on the day’s experiences. They particularly admired and appreciated Mrs Marijke Van Daele’s depth of knowledge and understanding of Belgian cities and history, her love and passion for her job, and her respect and humour in how she guides the tour for these senior officials from Nigeria.
Organisers emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and informal networking in leadership development, noting how the day enriched the workshop’s overall impact.
As the event officially ended, participants left Brussels with enhanced leadership skills, lasting memories, and strengthened connections with fellow professionals.
